Hi all,

Well here we are on the road again! After leaving Jackie and Maurices on Friday morning we headed for Bath, wow such an old place with huge buildings and the Roman baths were pretty impressive, after spending a couple of well filled hours site seeing there (and getting a parking ticket) we headed off to Stone Henge, OH Man that was so awe inspiring, magic! We then headed to Arundel which is where we stayed last night (Friday) we stayed at the Arundel Caravan Park basically at the base of the Arundel (pronounced arun - del) Castle of which we visited today. It was amazing, it is a real castle but owned by the Duke of Norfolk for generations upon generations, and we even met the Earl of Norfolk today on the entry in, Judi said “G’Day mate” to him and he laughed, he then stepped back then let Chris take picture cool huh! We ‘re not sure where we are headed today as family is meeting up with us Somewhere tomorrow, so until then catch ya ,

Cheers Beers (or in Chris’ & my case Ciders) and tears

Hi guys After leaving Gretna, we headed for Blackpool, had a walk around then headed into Wales, we decided to check out a hotel in Bala that Judi & I stayed at 7yrs ago, boy its certainly has been renovated. Much nicer than the run down hotel of 2001. We then had a wander around the village of Bala, how lovely and quaint and old. We found a van park 10mins walk from the town and thats where are tonight. Tomorrow we are off to see King Arthurs Labyrinth near Corris, then heading down to Cwmbran to stay overnight with rellies. Well we had a lovely day today (Wednesday) , fine weather and beautiful scenery on our way to see the King Arthur Labyrinth, WOW what an amazing place, its huge underground caves & the welsh story about King Arthur. Today (Thursday) has dawned cold and rainy so we are leaving tomorrow instead,  Jackie (cousin) Judi , Chris & I are heading to the shops to pick up some space bags so we can hopefully fit our luggage back in our bags  LOL.  we’re heading off to Bath tomorrow (Friday), no not to have one but to visit the city of Bath its an old roman built city, then we’re going to Stone Henge then across to Arundel Castle. We only have 1 week left guys ,, then we are off to Bangkok.Until our next macca’s drop in , cya  later gaters! & cwches (hugs) to you all! Nos da  (goodnight) (in welsh).

Back in Bonny Scotland and now England

HI GuysWell here we are back in Scotland, it was sad leaving Ireland, it is such a beautiful land with so much hidden treasure unless you know where to look. Fortunately for us whilst I was on my way back from emptying the toilet waste container, (my chore), an Irishman, who was a motor tourer too, starting conversing with me, asking me where we were from , and how long we had been in Ireland also where we had been, he then told us to bypass Dublin and Belfast as on a Sunday nothing is open but to head north up to the Giants Causeway and to follow the coastal road back down to Larne where we were catching our ferry from. He even got us to follow him to show us the way until he turned off which was great for us. He and his family were lovely. My god ! the views along that coastal road were phenomenal, as only the pictures can show. (and there are many)The trip back on the ferry was uneventful but nice and relaxing. After leaving the ferry at Cairnryan we headed for Dumfries where we posted our last blog then as we still had some daylight we decided to head to Gretna and that is where we are camped for tonight. Tomorrow we head back into England and down to Blackpool. We will add a few new pics with this blogUntil next maccas stopCatch ya on the flip side

Ye days of olde

Hi  guysWell here we are in a very picturesque seaside van park in a place called Rush just north of Dublin towards Belfast. After leaving Kesh, we stopped in Enniskillen and did the Maccas thing then headed towards Limerick, the route ‘Lola’ our NAT SAV) took us  was hairy , scary and downright terrifying but Chris and Judi did a magnificient job in manoevering the van through all the narrow roads and especially when Judi had to pass a giant tractor coming the other way, it was such a tight squeeze that our flag (stuck on the side mirror) scraped on the tractor and also the roadworks where Judi had to squeeze between a parked car and a guy who didn’t move, I swear I could have drawn a picture on his head from my window. Chris had her fair share of really tight squeezes too, like when we had to go through a village and found ourselves going down an extremely steep hill, we were ALL breaking, and like the time we were humming along the motorway only to have a little black car happily motoring along towards us on OUR side of the road,  oh and back in Londonderry Chris had to manoeuvre under a bridge and right past an oncoming bus again it was such a tight squeeze that our side flag scraped along the bus, I truly don’t think you could have put a piece of wafer paper between us ,, took about breaking a sweat!!  But we eventually found Bunratty Castle just 6kms before Limerick and a van park right behind the castle, it was so cool. Chris Judi & I walked the 1km back into the town of Bunratty and had dinner and a few drinks in a very old pub (pics will eventually get posted). Today (Sat) we were up early and headed out for Blarney Castle just before Cork. Blarney Castle was absolutely amazing. And NO!  none of us “kissed” the Blarney Stone but Judi & I did walk past it and said Hi and Chris actually blew it a kiss LOL.After Blarney we headed for Waterford , home of Waterford crystal, I was going to buy a small piece of crystal but it was all so damned expensive so I didn’t  get anything but hey we can say we’ve been there. We then headed for Dublin, the scenery and old buildings spectacular, unfortunately we got a little lost looking for our van park that we had booked and so went right past Dublin and out the other side heading for Belfast, we ended up finding this seaside van park here in Rush.  We are currently parked facing the sea, its beautiful and to top it off we had a stunning sunset tonight.Tomorrow we are heading back into Dublin for a quick tiki tour then off to Belfast then if time allows we are hoping to get up to the Giant Causeway (which we missed on the start of our tour) then back to Larne to catch the ferry back to Scotland , then we’re heading to Blackpool.Well guys until our next Maccas stop, here are some fresh pics for your perusal

2nd day in rainy Ireland

Friday 09 May, 2008 - 20:13 by The 3 sisters in Default

Hi  guys

Well here we are in ,what was, sunny Ireland , this morning we have woken to grey skies and light rain.  Yesterday after visiting Londonderry, we headed for a van park in Kesh , boy was that a road trip and a half , the country roads are indeed VERY narrow and even tight in some places but we saw some gorgeous  scenery and the natives are very friendly.  Chris’ driving skills are being honed to a knife edge hahahaahhaha. But she has done exceptionally well,, today is Judi’s turn.

Riding in the back has been, to say the least ,interesting, its like having my own personal gym back here.  But I do have my road legs now and can do just about anything in a moving vehicle. i.e make lunches etc.  Although I do have a few bruises LOL

Chris’ braking is deadly and judi & chris’ cornering is, well, lets just say we’ve ridden a few roundabouts , and no I don’t complain although Chris and Judi both say my English heritage arises quite often. (a whinging pom)

Today we are headed to Enniskillen to Maccas to post this blog then heading  towards Limerick  to stay the night.

Cya on the next Maccas  detour.

continuing the tour

HI Guys

well , its update time again, Monday we decided to head straight to John O’Groat  and taking the fastest route (says Lola our NATSAV) being all the backroads it took us about 4.5 hours but definitely well worth it , the scenery along the way was ,, well, words fail me, to say it was magnificent leaves a shortfall. But we have the pics to show when we get back. (for those who are interested)

we got back to Inverness around 6ish, Jude & I did some grocery shopping while Chris went to Maccas and posted our blog and checked emails.  We got back to our Loch Ness site around 10pm and by the time we had dinner and tidied up it was near midnight.

Up early Tuesday morning (wishing birthday girl a happy day) we packed up and headed off  towards Cairnryan but as it was starting to get late we decided to stay over in Prestwick just south of Glasgow and do the last 40miles to Cairnryan today.

we are currently in Prestwick near Ayr, NO not the one near Townsville this one is near Glasgow in Scotland LOL

It was Chrissies 45th birthday yesterday (6th ) so Judie & I took her into town last night for dinner at Flannigans Pub , (which is similar to Irish Finnigans) Chris woke up on her birthday facing Loch Ness (near Inverness) and went to sleep that night in Prestwick just south of Glasgow. ( check it out on a map). What a brilliant way to celebrate a birthday .    Whilst the scenery is still beautiful it’s not a patch on the north of Scotland. Last night we stayed  at the Prestwick Holiday Park . Got some lovely pics of a glorious sunset.

Well,we are off to Cairnryan today to catch the ferry across to Ireland tomorrow , see you all in Ireland,  (if they have a Maccas there, otherwise we’ll see you in 5days)

CHEERS!

Scotland Leg

Hi guys

On leaving Whitby caravan park we headed north to Haltwhistle , which is near Hadrians Wall, and stayed in a lovely hidden wooded serene park, after tea we went for a walk to the pub, the Wallace Arms, well Chris decided we should take the short route, across a sheep paddock, through the woods ,across a stream (wooden bridge),down a country road , through a gate down a pathway, out onto a bikeway and left up into the pub, yeah real short cut, the park owner came looking for us and offered us a lift home when we were ready, thank the lord!!!  But it was a nice walk .

We left Haltwhistle  the next morning and headed for Inverness  but due to getting away late and sightseeing in the outskirts of Edinburgh  we only got as far as Forfar so we found a lovely park there . All the parks  so far have been very friendly and helpful and prices have been pretty good. We left Forfar nice and early this morning and headed for John O’Groat we got to Inverness  and stopped for a coffee and decided as time was getting away from us again we would go and check out a very old pub called The Plough Inn built in the 17th century in a village called Rosemarkie ,( where Judi promptly chatted up 3 scottish guys, trust our Jude, hey Kev?) then after a lovely walk through the Fairy Glen we headed back down to Inverness and on to Loch Ness.

Well here we are in Loch Ness Caravan Park, how wonderfully beautiful this is, we are literally right on the bank of the Loch, tomorrow I am going to have a paddle and the girls are going to take a pic of me in Loch Ness. At present its cold and rainy (but nice and warm in the van).We are staying here for 2 days  and tomorrow we are going to check out Urquhart Castle and then heading back into Inverness to do some food shopping and just generally do some sightseeing.  The scenery along the way has been literally quite breathtaking and the old old buildings amazing. Tuesday (Chris’ 45th Birthday) we head to Cairnryan to board the car ferry to Ireland.

We are still fighting with Bigpond to get the extra storage space so that we can upload more pics , so bear with us we WILL get the pics posted ASAP, we have quite a few good ones to share with you. Well people until next time we find some internet  WIFI, take care

Cheers to all

motorhome day

Friday 02 May, 2008 - 17:57 by The 3 sisters in Default

views (30) | rating ooooo (0 votes)

Well guys its the first morning of our motorhome trip, we picked up the van yesterday afternoon and after some intense orientation we were on our way, Judi at the helm & Chris as navigator (with the help of LOLA (the SATNAV), first port of call was Goathland (alias Aidensfield from the tv series Heartbeat) Ooh the scenery was just breathtaking, we stopped at the Goathland Pub (alias Aidensfield Arms) and had a scrumptious dinner, Chris & Judi had roast beef & veges floating in a bowl made from yorkshire pudding and I had steak & kidney pie GOD IT WAS YUMMEEEEEE. Back on the road after dinner we were heading for a van park in Whitby but as night was closing in we found a lovely park at Sanderson which is just before Whitby. The views around this park are gorgeous. Today we are off to buy some FOOD and head north to see what delights we can discover.  Oh and we have nicknamed Chris the duck lady as on opening the van door this morning 6 resident ducks came running to her and now every time she pops her head out they come running LOL.  well guys we are still having trouble getting more storage space from bigpond so until we can sort this out we can't post anymore pics but trust us we have some good ones to post, so bear with us.  cya on the next update

home (back in Wales) from London & Paris trip

Thursday 01 May, 2008 - 02:35 by The 3 sisters in Default

views (24) | rating ooooo (0 votes)

HI all

well we're back from London & Paris, even colder and wetter. In London we took a big bus tour, which took just about ALL of the London area. Brilliant!! unfortunately our accommodation was absolutely appalling, I wouldn't let my dog stay there but we made it through 2 gruelling nights. On the first night we took in a ghost tour which was eerie but really good. we had to meet at this brilliant pub called Blackfriars pub in Blackfriar (in London) the meal was spectacular, not to mention the atmosphere and decor of the pub. we then caught a black cab (only cabs in London) back to our 1/2 star . oops, not even that, accommodation. the next day we were out of there really early having barely slept a wink, we went to the London Dungeon and the London Tower, where we saw the Crown jewels, and the Meateaters (as Chris called them, think she meant the Beefeaters HAHAHAHA

Monday morning dawned and we were off to gay Pareee, under the english channel,by train , where Judi very tactfully (yeah right) asked why there weren't any windows in the tunnel so we could see the water???  go figure  HAHHAHA

Paris was cold wet and windy, we went on another bus tour which took us to the Eiffel Tower, we went up to the 2nd floor by lift and Chris walked all the way to the bottom, where as Judi and I, walked half way down and caught the lift, so who are the smart ones?? I ask you??  but the views were brilliant. Then we were off on a cruise down the Sein River, some spectacular sights were seen. back to our much better hotel, The Holiday Inn, and had a lovely dinner of Quiche Lorraine and salad (lettuce leaves)and a couple of drinks.  Back on the train the next day after a bit of walking around the Gare Du Nord (train station) & back to good old england , then back on another train to Wales. Back to cousin Jackies who had a lovely hot meal & a warm bed  waiting for us.

Today we went (yes you guessed it ) shopping in Cwmbran. Tonight we pack up all our belongings and tomorrow we head off to Derby, by yet another train, to pick up our Motorhome, then hit the wild cold rainy blue, sorry, grey yonder (haven't seen blue sky yet).

catch you all on the next update ,, take care

Arrival UK

Well after a very loooong and boring 10 hours in Bangkok airport we were glad to board our plane bound for UK.

After a long and sleepless  flight with damn awful food we arrived at London ,did a few circuits in the air before we landed, had a traffic jam on the tarmac, finally allowed of the plane and lined up in the cattle grid to get through customs (and you wont see us on border security). found our way through underground maze to coach terminal ( 40 min wait ) caught coach to Cymbrant (3 hour trip) our bums will never be the same.

Cymbrant is lovely green and lush, bloody freezing.

We are of to London tomorrow (27th at home) 2 nights in London  then off to Paris  and will be back on Tuesday (30 th). Will have more to tell then.
